Position: Chinese Strategic Planner based in Shanghai  – Contract

Job Description:

Due to our rapid expansion, we are currently recruiting a Chinese Strategic Planner with excellent command in English to join our new office in Shanghai on a contract basis. The successful candidate will be involved in business and campaign development of the agency’s clients, as well as guiding Copywriters to achieve the best communication result according to demographic differences of consumer behavior across China. The person is expected to advise the company on the media environment, consumer trend, competitive brand as well as the global campaign for our existing accounts.

Person Specification:

Native speaker in Mandarin with excellent command in English.
Experience working within an advertising or marketing agency with a strong background in the consumer electronics sector.
4 years experience living in the UK or USA. (Preferable but not essential.)
Excellent negotiation skills, with client facing experience.
Strategic planning experience within an advertising or marketing agency is essential.
Good knowledge of consumer behaviour according to demographic differences in China to make communication consumer friendly.
The role will be based in Shanghai, but the successful candidate will be required to travel to Beijing and the rest of China when needed.

Position: In-house Chinese Copywriter based in Shanghai

The successful candidate will be involved mainly with copy origination, transcreation, international adaptation from English master advertising and marketing copy into his/her own language and market as well as voiceover direction.

Person Specification:

Native speaker in Mandarin with excellent command in English.
5 years proven experience as a Copywriter, with a proven track record specialising in the consumer electronics sector.
1 to 2 years experience living in the UK or USA. (Preferable but not essential.)
Excellent negotiation skills with client facing experience.
Strategic planning experience is essential.
Transcreation skills, creative flair in your mother tongue and knowledge of your local market are crucial.
Good knowledge of consumer behaviour according to demographic differences in China to make communication consumer friendly.
The role will be based in Shanghai but the successful candidate will be required to travel to Beijing and the rest of China when needed.
